Ask yourself, how many good titles have you bought out of impulsively buying videogames? Buying videogames that actually would be worth your time and money takes more than just an impulse, you need to take a second or maybe even a third look at it. So don't buy something that you're not sure about how good it is, if you're curious then try it out in the store or at a friends house who owns that specific game. You need to see how good a game is first if you're curious about it. Don't just buy it immediately and find out that you don't like it after you have already spent for it.

Never buy a videogame solely because you like the cover, or the game trailer of it

Even if people praise how good the cover art is of a certain videogame, it does not proportionally translate into the game being as good as its cover is. In fact, you'd be surprised as to how much of a let down it might actually be. Do not be so eager to part with your cash, do a little homework first and make sure that you are getting what you are paying for.
