Why hair extensions are so useful when changing your style
From high-fashion catwalks and movie premieres to every High Street in the country
and every glossy magazine in the newsagent, hair is rarely what it seems. In today's quick-fix culture, choosing which hair extensions best suit the occasion or outfit has become a perfectly everyday fashion consideration. Thanks to the convenience of being able to clip in artificial hair at just a moment's notice, the days of women waiting up to two or three years for their hair to be the length they want are over.
Fashion is largely to thank for the boom in hair extensions and clip hair, as each season comes with its own signature hair styles as well as outfits, so in summer fashionistas might want short hair, but then come winter long hair could be in' again. Of course, letting your hair naturally grow is an option, but of course by the time your hair is as long as you want it again, a new style could easily be hitting the streets. The average human hair only grows at about half an inch per month, so it really could take well over a year to go from short to long hair.
However, changing your hairstyle isn't always about fashion. Probably the most obvious benefit of hair extensions is that they let you dress for the occasion perfectly every time. Perhaps a dinner ball is coming up and you want cascading long hair to compliment your cocktail dress? Not a problem. However maybe you just want a change for change's sake, or would like to see how you might look with long hair before committing to either growing it for months, or splashing out big money at a hairdresser's?
Of course, you can visit a hairdresser's to have hair extensions professionally applied in a few hours, but you can also do it yourself these days too.
Clip hair avoids the hot glue and waiting time that usually comes with getting hair extensions and instead lets you literally just clip in lengths of real hair, before styling, and even cutting, to however you like. A new hairstyle needn't just be about a big change either. Sometimes the most subtle changes are the most effective, like adding in hair extensions to increase volume rather than length, or to add subtle highlights through your natural colour. Unfortunately everyone has bad hair days from time to time, or worse, a bad haircut, so keeping a set of clip hair extensions handy can really help hide a multitude of sins until your hair has grown enough to hide it.
Like all good fashion fixes, getting hair extensions can be a costly decision, but thankfully, there are other options available. Different stylists will be able to advise you on what will best suit your hair, but extensions are usually either sewn or braided in if they're not glued in place. Clip-in hair avoids any of these potentially uncomfortable options.
