Buying clothes for your pet dog is like buying clothes for your own child

. Dressing up your dog makes your dog feel special. But you must make sure that the dress does not make your dog uncomfortable. Do not even expect your dog to be comfortable in a perfect measurement if they are wearing it for the first time. You must train your dog in order to make them comfortable in any kind of dresses you choose for them.

The first step is to make your dog comfortable in wearing sweaters or pullovers, make sure that dress is of the perfect size i.e. not too loose and not to tight either, in order to help your dog carry any kind of outfit later on. At first your dog might run around in circles trying to get hold over the dress so that they can scratch it and remove from themselves but you need to make your dog understand that there is no way out of this situation and they have to wear any dress that you want to see them in. But at the same time do not torture your pet by making them wear anything gaudy since you pet will get very uneasy in it.

Secondly, if you are planning a party at your house and you want your dog to look as beautiful as you are looking by buying an extravagant dress for her, you need to plan it before hand in order to adjust your dog to the dress. This means, buy the dress before hand and make your dog wear it every other day for longer period so that she gets used to it and recognizes the difference between wearing it and chewing it.

You need to gently and sweetly scold your dog also when she tries to take it off or scratch it and at the same time praise her to make her feel important and lovable when she wears it for long. This way she will know that you appreciate the dress and want to see her in it. Try to show her off to people and other family members, when she receives appreciation and attention from them all she will know that it is nice to wear such a dress.

Last but not the least get different out fits for your dog and try to experiment that which one is he/ she most comfortable in? Your dog may not like fancy clothes, especially male dogs, so keep them off such outfits. Your children also buy stuff of their choice; try to be understanding for your pet too. Get them to try clothes and outfits of a vast variety and choose from them, especially if the dog seems happy in one particular kind, try to get colors in it and keep him/ her happy. If you still want to try out new clothes on your pet, give him/ her some time to get used to it. Then you can show off your clothes and your dog's as well!
