There are news stories regarding children murdered by their sitters and irresponsible individuals being left with one of the most important duties a parent allocates - looking after their kids. This is why it is becoming all the more necessary to complete a background check on your potential babysitter.
By conducting a nanny background checkyou can find out whether your potential nanny has a criminal record or accusations of wrongdoing. You can also verify previous employment and possibly even certifications they have earned. While it's not a 100% guarantee that your child will remain protected, it's a large step towards securing their safety.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services publishes annual reports on the number of child abuse cases. In 2002, the report showed that 44,000 cases were perpetrated by people other than parents, foster parents, guardians or relatives.
