Why the young generation will have to clean up the mess

David Cameron doesn't seem to understand why students are going crazy in London over the fees. He condemns the violence from his post, whilst set up financially for life.

His and older generations screwed up. Who knows how. They spent too much, the bonuses got too big, the spending became too liberal. Who can really tell where it went wrong? Either way, it's his and the older generations that screwed us.

Now, they've increased the debt University students will have to face to get a good education in order to be able to get better jobs. Think of it this way: An average 18 year old wants to have a shot at University. He doesn't want to get an apprenticeship as a mechanic or doss about doing jobs in restaurants. He wants a future in... something. By going to University, he will be taking on around a 30,000 debt minimum, including the new criminal tuition fees and living expenditure and such.

But, wait, he won't have to pay that back until he's getting at least 21,000, so it's all OK, right? No. It's not.

He'll still find it difficult to get a job, as cuts, immigration and the recession have made jobs insecure and harder to find. He might want to start a family and buy a house, but property prices are a pretty grim affair, child benefits have been slashed, and most first time buyers will find getting a mortgage difficult. But it's OK, after a life of hardship, he'll be able to settle down with his poor pension (did I not mention, they're not worth a lot nowadays?) and his great retiring age of 75.

And to top it all of, you have some rich, Oxford educated toff prancing around on TV, whose rich Mummy and Daddy paid for his education, dealing out cuts like candy. His generation are making the cuts from a decent economic standpoint. Enjoying earlier retiring ages, and leaving older generations out from the bulk of the cuts.

Bloody wonderful.
