Will Smith has always been an idol of mine

Will Smith has always been an idol of mine. Not only for his success in many popular movies but also because of is great body. In Ali he was big and strong and in I Robot and I am Legend he was ripped and cut.

I managed to discover some of Will Smiths Workout secrets courtesy of his personal trainer Darrell Foster.

1. Smith would train weights 5 times per week. Each focusing on just 1 or 2 body parts. Working each muscle group more than once per week really helps to stimulate muscle growth.


2. In order to stay lean and ripped, Will would run 5 miles 6 times per week. He would also do some boxing training 2 times per week.

3, Diet is hugely important is anyone's workout routine and there is no exception with Will. Because Will Smiths workout consisted of so much training- both weights and cardio, he would eat high levels of both protein and carbs. This would help speed up recovery and help with accelerated muscle growth.

As his body grew and developed more muscle he would burn more calories each day (simply from his new muscle). If he wanted to get more ripped or drop body fat, Will would cut some carbs from his diet. (Though not all as he still wanted to feel good. Plus we still need carbs to help us complete workouts.)

4. Will has a unique system for adding muscle mass. He would warm up with some high reps at low weights. (Lower than 70% of his max). He would then do 6 sets of 1 rep. Starting at 80% of your max and improving each time.

After the 6 sets, he would reverse the process. Starting at the heaviest weight for 1 rep, all the way down to your 80% max again.

To then completely exhaust the muscles, Will Smith would grab a lighter weight and do 2 sets of 5 reps.

Then finally he would halve the weight and just go to failure.

Wow, I tried this the other day and felt just ridiculously tired. It really thrashes the muscles!
