A girl trip is usually the stuff of fantasies. A mother can't often get away. Treating yourself to a trip can make you both a better mother, and wife. How many of your girlfriends do you think could use a getaway? Likely, all of them would jump at such an opportunity. Where would you go to escape spilled milk and crushed cookies? Have you considered the condos by the beach?

Picture yourself sleeping in, taking long walks down the beach as the sun goes down with your arms free, yelling at no one to stay away from the water. No babies start crying as soon as you try to take a shower. Can you imagine you and your girlfriends, free and able to have an alcoholic drink and enjoy the afternoon at a fancy restaurant that wouldn't even allow children? Is there such an experience? Does it happen after children?

It does and it should. In fact, keep in mind that current research suggests it's important to take breaks. Obviously, you need to leave your children with a responsible adult while you are away. Maybe Dad is the right guy for the job. Once those details are taken care of, it's time to start planning your trip. Of course, now it's time to worry about what those condos by the beach cost. In reality, though, it's probably not as much as you think.

Generally, places that put together packages for girls getaways, golf and fishing packages, and even couples packages price them per person. So each mom who comes pays a certain amount. They include little extras to make it an experience you want to remember and talk about. Of course, this won't take the place of your girl's night scrap booking or watching girly films. It will just be you and your best friends talking about something other than your children, feeling the stress roll off of you.

So today as you go about your day baking for the school fundraiser and rocking baby down for a nap consider yourself. Consider giving yourself a day that doesn't involve crayons in the dryer and cooking dinner. Women are notorious for trying to do it all. That's why women need to give themselves a break. In fact, after a break you will come back refreshed, a better mother, and you might resemble the wife your husband married. You might smile brighter. In fact, he might want to check out the condos for a couples' package. One thing for sure is that you won't regret spending some time with your girlfriends. Remember to keep up on your girl dates, though it will be hard to tear yourself away from those precious little smiles again.
