Holidays to the Costa Blanca will offer much more than the usual sun

, sea and sand. It will also offer holiday makers a wide variety of resorts with plenty of things to see and do across its stretch of two hundred kilometres of coastline. The Costa Blanca is located on the east coast of Spain.

The weather in the region is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and the temperatures not dipping below sixteen degrees Celsius and then the lovely hot and sunny summers with temperatures reaching in excess of thirty two degrees Celsius in the height if the summer season. Holidays to the Costa Blanca also has an amazing three hundred and fifteen days of sunshine per year with very little rain annually.

The area is a favourite with many British holiday makers with over one point five million of us travelling here every year.

The meaning of the name Costa Blanca is White Coast and is a wonderful name for the area as this area boasts some of the most stunning beaches in Spain. Benidorm has a beautiful beach called Levante Beach which has a prestigious Blue Flag award for its vibrant and spotless beach attracting many families here. Many of the beaches on this coastline have outstanding facilities for active holiday makers and offer a wide variety of water sports on many of the beaches.

There are many activities on offer in Costa Blanca including visiting some of the many quaint villages in and around the area and even checking out Alicante City which is one of Spains most cosmopolitan and trendy cities. There is plenty of culture and history to investigate whilst here too.

If you want to visit somewhere a little bit different, whether you are travelling with children or not, Terra Mitica is a definite must see when you are here.

Terra Mitica is one of Costa Blancas major attractions and is the largest theme park in Europe. The park is built around five different themed zones, Mediterranean Islands, Greece, Egypt, Rome and Egypt. The Ocionia and Atalaya themed zones were added and presented to the park in 2008. All of the themed zones have rides and shows that are related to the particular theme of the area. There are twenty five rides in the theme park all together from white knuckle rides to family and children rides and it is also home to the longest wooden rollercoaster in Europe. Terra Mitica also shows some spectacular parades and performances making the streets of the theme park come alive with much colour, dancing and music as well as acrobatics and stunts making it an ideal place for all the family to visit. Entrance into the theme park is exceptionally reasonable with adults costing approximately thirty euro and children aged between five and ten costing roughly twenty three euro. Children under four are admitted free of charge. You can also purchase family tickets in advance which will make it cheaper if you have a family going. And can be purchased in the UK before you travel. It is a fabulous place to visit no matter which resort you stay in and has a day or two of fun filled activities.

Holidays to the Costa Blanca are widely available whether you book through your travel agent or even book it independently through one of the low cost operators travelling to Alicante airport, but no matter how you get there you are sure to have a good time in any of the resorts on this coast.
