Windmill Kits - 3 Considerations To Carry Out 1st

Along with solar power, wind turbine kits provide the primary renewable means of recharging batteries these days

. It is relatively easy to get set up and producing power with a renewable kit system, but you must take some time on the front end and get the fundamentals nailed down before launching.

Fossil fuel resources are vanishing at an astonishing rate. We know that within the next few generations there will be virtually gone. We just need to do everything we can slow that down for the sake of our future generations.

So, as you're looking at options for version renewable energy, consider wind turbine kits as your primary method of achieving renewable energy. Quite simply, if you live where there's enough wind energy, they're going to be a lot better option than solar and geothermal .

Here are the questions you must answer first though before even thinking about looking at prices:

1. Why am I doing this? What am I trying to accomplish?

You need to be very specific about what you're trying to supply energy to. You can't just say I am trying to capture the power of the wind and turn it into electricity. That's not specific enough. It pays to take a look at the specific things you can do with the wind energy.

For example, you can supply battery backup for a critical appliance like a freezer. You can also produce energy for your entire home if you're lucky enough to be in large enough area for wind. Another goal could be to export power to the electricity grid. That way you can also get paid by your utility to supply them energy that they can sell to their customers. You would be functioning in essence like a small power plant.

2. What are my wind resources? You need to understand the specific wind at various points where you might install the wind device. The way to do that is just to get a small anemometer and mount it to take readings. You let the device run for at least two weeks and then download the data into your computer. If you're fortunate enough to have 9 mph or greater of average wind then your project is a sure thing.

3. What do I expect to accomplish? How will I know if a project is successful? You need to set goals for the project such as keeping a set of batteries charged or maybe even cutting your utility bill by half. This is not an unreasonable goal of the wind turbine project.

When you have these questions answered you can clearly and quickly assess the proper wind turbine kits for your particular application.
