Wine Distributor Expands His Business With Broadband Internet

Dave's highest education level was a high school-diploma. Most people wouldn't have believed that when they saw his fancy house and the nice cars that he drove. They probably would have assumed that he had won the lottery. However this was not the case with Dave, he was actually a very intelligent person; he just didn't need a bachelor's degree to prove that to anyone. He had tried to go the college route and taken one year of classes at a community college pursuing his education degree, but after a year he decided to go a different route.

Everything that he had, he had made for himself and he loved his work. He did owe a little bit of his success to a little financial help from his parents when he was trying to get started. He had worked in a local wine shop when he was in high school, just helping around, and over those few years working there, he realized by the increase in volume of customers, that there was a wine craze. He found a school in France that specialized in understanding wines, and he asked his parents if they would help finance his education in that field. They weren't sure if he was going the right path, but he was pretty confident that he was.

He went to France for a year and learned everything there was to know about French wines and a lot about wines in general. He developed the ability to distinguish a wine by it's taste, and this helped him a lot. Through the school he also became acquainted with many small vineyards that were interested in exporting to the United States, and this was how his business began.

He got a license to import alcohol into the country and started his small business in western Massachusetts. He was sure that the small number of wines he had would be successful in the fine dining establishments in his area. Sure enough he was right, and it seemed like the restaurants couldn't get enough. He had plenty of wine coming in and he looked for a way to expand his business, and that was with broadband internet.

The only problem was that there were not very many sources that provided broadband internet in his area. He had heard horror stories from some colleagues about the DSL internet service available, and those people were thoroughly upset with the provider and the service both. There was no cable television in his area, which meant there was no cable internet either. That was when he stumbled upon satellite broadband internet. He subscribed to a satellite internet provider and soon had incredibly fast broadband available in his home office. From there he was able to get his name out there and distribute his product to regions other than western Massachusetts.

In the next few years he had expanded his selection to include wines from other regions than France, such as: Italy, Argentina, Chile, and Australia. With his broadband internet connection at home he was able to keep in touch with his suppliers abroad and his customers at home.
