Another part of a light bar that helps police in their duties is alley lights. Alley lights are focused sideways, and so light up the alleys and beyond on both sides of the vehicle. The illuminating of the sides is helpful in gathering evidence and in thwarting the attempts of suspects to take refuge in the darker areas. In short with a good light bar police get many extra eyes.
