But the study also revealed that the way women look can cause them to feel unhappy with their lives. Many women revealed that never changing their look can get them down, causing them to feel like they have become stuck in a never ending rut.

Three quarters of women wished that they had the courage to do something simple like change their hairstyle and 45 per cent of women believe that a change in their appearance, be it hair, make up or wardrobe, would make a drastic positive difference to the way they feel.

However, 34 per cent of the women surveyed said that they simply didn't have the confidence to make the necessary changes to their life to make them happy and 29 per cent simply didn't have the time.

The survey also revealed a list of top 10 things that women wished they could do, these included putting the house up for sale and buying a new one, having a dramatic haircut and booking in for a breast augmentation.
