Marie Curie was the first person to have honored with two Nobel Prizes
. She left a mark on the rest of the world and proved that the
women inventors and their inventions were equally significant and needs to be respected. Along with her husband she made pioneering advancements in the field of radioactivity. With her husband Pierre Curie discovered two new elements radium and polonium. She studied the x-rays emitted from these elements and found that these could be used to kill tumors which brought about a revolution in the medical field. She also shares her Nobel Prize in Physics with her husband.
Valerie Thomas invented a futuristic illusion transmitter and received patent for the same in 1980. The illusion transmitter invented by her is basically an extension of television images with three dimensional projections, which gives the illusion to the person watching that the images exist right in front of you in your living room. Though this technique was basically used in movie halls, with futuristic illusion transmitter coming in the technique could be used for television too. Valerie Thomas worked as a mathematical data analyst and a project manager for many of NASA's high profile projects.
Ellen Ochoa designed an optical system to detect imperfections in repeating patterns. Her invention was one of its own kinds. Keeping mind the scope of her invention it was quickly accepted and is used at large for quality control while intricate parts are fabricated in a manufacturing unit. She was patented for her invention in the year 1987. In addition she also received patent for her inventing an optical system which could be used to manufacture things robotically. Dr.Ellen Ochoa, apart from being a scientist in NASA is also an astronaut and has spent maximum number of man hours i.e., 719 hours in space.
The first computer generated hologram with full color reflection was developed by Krisztina Holly in 1991. She received lots of appreciation for her this invention. In addition, she also created "The Stylus" along with fellow scientists, Michael Cassidy and John Barrus. It enabled customers to order goods with bar code scanning. Another invention of hers is Visual Voice for which she cares credit with Cassidy Brookins and Chris Brookins. It is a computer telephony development tool based on Windows that enables computer engineers to create all in one telephone systems with provisions for voice mail, fax transmission and call placing and answering.
The world was amazed when a 12 year old girl from Canada, Rachel Zimmerman came up with Blissymbols'. It is basically used to helps people overcome communication difficulties and communicate effectively using her Blissymbols'. Her invention greatly helped people with mental disabilities such as cerebral palsy to communicate effectively. Her invention used certain symbols which were placed on a page or board and can be pointed using a special touch pad by the people with difficulty. These symbols automatically get translated to a written language by Blissymbol printer. With all these inventions it turned out that
