There are many issues and interests that women are more concerned about than men are. Though women have made their mark in everything from sports to politics, to careers in the military, women still have specific needs and wants based on who they are. Being feminine is a good thing and taking the time to focus on issues that pertain to them is important. Many women's interests do focus on home, decorating, women's fashions, and aerobics more than on car engines, hunting dogs, football, and tractors. There are of course crossovers between the two. There are some outstanding interior decorators who are men and there are also some truly talented women mechanics, but to some degree it is fine for women to have certain fields of interest.

In addition to job equality, there are other women's interests that are worth discussing and self defense is one of them. You hear about women being harmed much more often than men are. Men who prey on women have a predatory behavior and tend to stalk for a period before they attack. It is very important for women to stay alert and attentive to what is going on around them. Also hitting him as hard as possible in the groin, eyes, and throat may help to deter him. Keys can also be a weapon. By holding onto the ring and letting one key protrude between the fingers and then striking at him with the key can help to further hinder his efforts. It is a scary thing, but planning ahead and trying to stay out of dangerous situations in the first place may be the best remedy there is.

Ladies fashion is another area that is important to women in a way that is different than how important men's fashion is to them. Some dresses, scarves, hats, stockings, and blouses are all things that are fun to pick out, try on, and spend money on. At times, it can be very hard to find plus size fashions that look nice. Just because a woman is larger than a size 12 does not mean that she does not want to look nice. Going to stores that specialize in plus sizes may be a good choice. There are big and tall stores for tall men, and having a special store for women who do not look like Barbie is just fine. Stores that have lines specifically catering to larger sizes means that they should have styles and patterns that compliment a round physique. Certain cuts, direction to prints and stripes, and colors help the woman attain the look she is after.
