Woodstock, one of Cape Town's oldest suburbs, has recently become a hang out for the young and trendy, the coolness of Greenpoint has spilled out onto Woodstock, where many are renovating it's old Cape accommodation into stylish, up market houses and apartments. Its popularity may also have something to do with its inclusion in the city bowl and its easy access to the central business district.

From the new Woodstock Cape accomodation, occupants have views of the harbour to the north and Table Mountain to the south. The suburb is energetic and colourful and is filled with many Victorian semi-detached houses, Woodstock has recently been named one of the city's improvement districts.

As well as much Cape luxury accommodation, many high end companies have recently been encouraged to move to Woodstockto boost both the commercial and residential property markets. In the last few years, many of Cape Town's top art galleries have relocated from Town to Woodstock.

Some of the buzz that is associated with Woodstock is due to the fact that Woodstock managed to escape the Group Areas Act enforced on most areas during Apartheid.

Undoubtedly, one of Woodstock's main attractions is the Old Biscuit Mill, which is a complex that houses a number of quirky shops selling a range of up to the minute products. The Neighbourhood Goods Market takes place every Saturday and is the place to be seen for Cape Town's trendy elite, it is also the place where many find objects to furnish their Cape Town apartments.

For those looking for cultural entertainment, the Theatre in the District is open nearby. Roodebloem Road is the place to find many a quirky restaurant, often they have been converted from the Woodstock Capetown accommodation.

Woodstock is also close to the Cape Town Convention Center, Table Mountain, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, the Sea Point Promenade and the colourful suburb of Observatory.
