Wordpress Is Now A Mainstream Website Editing Program

Wordpress blogs have come a very long way since their early days

. Nowadays you would not even know that they were Wordpress websites; they are not personal web-logs at all. Wordpress has become a mainstream web site editing program that makes things extremely easy for any small business or individual to build a website.

Using Wordpress means you never have to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) or HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language). Strictly speaking you use all of these but you never see them because Wordpress handles everything through its plain language interface. You type in ordinary language and Wordpress sorts out everything that needs to be done.

Even the default Wordpress theme is now attractive and can be customized easily, though you will probably want to install a new theme anyway.

You can set up any number of Wordpress websites, put ads on them all and make money from your visitors. You can make sponsored posts and recommend affiliate products, too, both of which will make you money.

If you write articles it is a good idea to have a Wordpress site in each niche that your articles can link to. That way you may be able to add your article readers to your loyal blog readership and there is a chance they will buy something from you.

The popularity of Wordpress is well deserved. It has come about for two reasons; Wordpress is extremely easy to use and Wordpress sites do better than you would expect in search engines.

Even if you pay a website designer to set up your Wordpress site you will be able to update it every day without any problems. The program is intuitive to use, even for a first-time user.

Google and other search engines prefer to list sites near the top of their search listings that are up to date. Wordpress sites are so easy to update that they are often updated twice a day. Google equates frequent updates with a site being up to date and ranks your site higher than if it was a traditional static site that was updated once every three months.

There are various other blogging or site management software programs, but none is as easy to use as Wordpress. Wordpress has the largest number of add-on alternatives, too, because it has the largest community of software writers.

You may have heard about free blog hosting sites. These sites all LOOK like blogs, rather than commercial websites. Hosting and domain names will cost you less than $100 a year. Most of that cost is for the hosting, and that should include hosting an unlimited number of domains. It is worth $100 to have websites that do not look amateurish and to gain some credibility with your readers or customers.

The other thing with the free service is your web address would be markspencer.blogger.com or markspencerhardware.blogspot.com instead of markspencerhardware.com. The first two are clearly free domains. If you will not invest $100 a year in your website your customers will not have much confidence in you or what you are telling them.
