Work At Home Dad - Set Your Priorities
Many men dream of being work at home dads
Many men dream of being work at home dads. They dream of how happy their wives and children will be to see more of them at home. They dream of their children running in to see them throughout the day. They dream of having the flexibility to stop working on a whim and taking the entire family for an impromptu day out instead. But, when their dream of finally becoming work at home dads finally comes true, they might be surprised to find that it's harder than they originally thought it would be. After all, a work at home dad still has to work.
If you aren't diligent to work, then your home business won't last very long. Despite the fact that your work setting has changed, the purpose of your work is still the same: you want to support yourself and your family by working hard and turning a profit at what you do. In order to do this efficiently, the work at home dad needs to set boundaries for himself and for his work so that he is sure to have enough time and energy to do what he needs to do. After all, you have to make money to maintain that lifestyle, and you won't be able to do it if you don't get your work done.
Making up a home office for yourself makes for a great physical boundary. If you're in your office with your door closed, then your family will know that you are working and not to be disturbed. You can then schedule time throughout the day to spend with them at your leisure so that the best of your energy and time still goes to your family. Setting office hours is also an important part of making sure that you get your work done as a work at home dad.
It's also important to set work goals for yourself as a work at home dad. Prioritize the most important tasks in your workday and try to accomplish those tasks first so that you make sure to hit those goals and achieve those milestones. By setting goals, you can push yourself to do better and to work harder to reach your full potential so that your work is as profitable as it is convenient. Then, you'll be able to take breaks throughout the day to spend time with your family without feeling guilty.
