When it comes to getting in shape, working out to lose weight is one of the best ways to go about it, couple that up with a good diet and you will be on your way in no time. But there is always the "how do I go about this" that people always get confused about. There are lots of different ways to do this, but what really matters is what works for you.
Like take the dieting part of it for example, there are way too many different diets out there to choose from and it can be frustrating to find a good one, let alone one that will taste good. And the other part that you will need to remember is calories in and out. That is the biggest thing to keep up with because if you take in so much and don't burn it then your body will just store it away and it can turn into fat easily.

As for a good workout routine I suggest that you start it out slowly and build it up as time goes by. Don't try to hit the heavy weights first or do too much in a day because you will pay for it over the next few days with muscle soreness. For the first day I would try to do a light whole body workout and keep your heart rate at 85% the whole time if you can.
Working out to lose weight is really the ideal way to go about this and if you don't have a gym membership then there are lots of ways you can do this at home. Like pushups sit-ups and chin-ups.
What you really want to do is find a routine that works for you and run with it, if you can follow it then don't give up and keep pushing forward until you are comfortable with yourself. Then you can kick it down a notch and workout a couple times a week and still have control over your weight. So if you really are serious then working out to lose weight can and will work for you just keep at it and don't give up.
