When it comes to work, salaries and benefits in Dubai is considered similar or greater than those Western countries. What truly drives the interest of people to work in Dubai is that they live a tax-free lifestyle. This means that they will not need to pay tax for the salary they gain, which makes their gain appear much more. Plus, with items tax-free, they spend minimally. Hence, working in Dubai can be very tempting.

Previously, the remuneration package would be split to pay for the basic salary, car allowance, housing allowance, medical coverage children's education, and air tickets. However, the package is now paid as a salary instead, but enough to cover for all those mentioned in the package. Plus, there may be other bonuses that may be included.

For contract workers, apart from the salary, there will be an indemnity at the end of the contract period, as stated by the laws of Dubai. It is called an end of service benefits', which is a form of token of gratitude for the time the expatriates have served at the state, and not a type of insurance nor is it an end of contract bonus, so it is paid separately from the bonus. Based on the length of time the expatriate has served at the state, the end of service benefits usually amounts to 15 days of basic pay per year for the first three years, plus a month's salary of per year employment. Indeed, the salaries and benefits in Dubai seem too good to be true.

The working week varies between 40 to 48 hours, whereby office hours usually begin at 8.30 or 9.00 am, to 5.30 or 6.00 pm. However, some companies will split the working day into two, from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, and then 4.00 to 7.00 pm. During Ramadan, the number of working hours in a day is reduced to 6 hours, although some companies only practice this among Muslim workers who will need to fast. Friday would be the Muslim rest day, while the other rest day can either be on Thursday or Saturday, with Saturday being the more popular choice among international companies.
