Although this very rarely comes up in surveys of the most expensive holiday destinations

in the world, anyone who has "done Disney" will tell you a holiday here is far from cheap. As you can imagine anything brandishing the Disney brand is paid for at a premium, and that includes the hotels on the resort.

In fact a hotel in the resort can actually be as much as 40% more expensive than a hotel that is near by, but not actually in the resort.

On top of that there are the park tickets to pay for, and food and drink is not the cheapest especially on site.

That being said, if you have yet to do a Disney holiday then even though it is one of the most expensive holiday destinations in the world, it is a truly magical experience. Great for families, and "big kids" alike, this holiday destination is one that will make you feel like a child again!

Although the places we have looked at rank as some of the most expensive to visit, bear in mind that in tough economic times there are some amazing deals to be had. You may find a holiday to one of the special places is not as expensive to come by as you'd expect.
