The first step in having worm compost is setting up a worm bin. This would house your worms, so choose whether to use wood or plastic, appropriate measurements should be noted and the beddings should be moist which could be made up of moist newspapers, leaves and a little soil.
The most common worms for compost are the red worms. Make sure that your worms have enough air, water and moisture to live. As you go on further in your worm composting you will notice that the beddings become less and there is more compost compared to the layer of beddings. In about 3-5 months you will now be able to harvest your compost, meaning they are now ready to be taken out of the bin. Before harvesting, do not feed the worms with any kind of foods.
