, many magazines have done lists that rank the best and worst places to raise a family. Many of the best places are small towns like Burlington, Vermont and Midwest cities like Madison, Wisconsin and Fargo, North Dakota. If you are looking for a place with lots of spaces for your kids to play these are great choices. The cities that ranked as the worst places to raise a family where often high crime cities like Vegas and Miami. Here is a list of some of those worst places to raise a family. If you don't want to have your Mercedes BMW rims stolen, don't live in these cities. Las Vegas, Nevada Its pretty obvious why Las Vegas would be a bad place to raise a family, with the crime and the hedonism and the gambling and the prostitution. Many studies that are done looking at economics, health, housing, crime and safety and education have consistently placed Las Vegas on the list as one of the worst places to raise a family. Some people see the rankings as skewed though, believing that it is possible to raise a family in the Sin City and still shelter them from the horrors of life, although it is more work, and you have to be more vigilant about your childs safety and whereabouts, but I guess it is possible. Detroit, Michigan Its been a tough past decade for Detroit, as the auto-industry has continued its slow decline into extinction. The city is consistently listed as one of the worst crime areas and the worst places to raise a family because of its poor education system and high crime rate. The housing market in Detroit is also dismal, although you probably could find a good house for half what it goes for in other areas of the Midwest simply because you are buying a house in Detroit, the city that will steal your entire car body kit without a second thought. Hopefully the city finds some relief in other industries and better jobs opening up there to attract out of city employees to flock to the state and bring in new jobs and new revenue, but as it stands, Detroit is one of the worst places to live, children or not.
