Would You Be Suited To An Activity Holiday Abroad?

Although lots of people automatically book a beach based holiday every year

, many others will go for something very different indeed. Are you among them?

For some there is nothing better than getting out and about every single day and taking part in a wide range of different activities. It doesnt matter where you choose to stay you will always find plenty of options for an activity holiday. From holiday villas in Andalucia to hotels in many other countries, there are always opportunities to try out a variety of different activities.

Of course some areas are better equipped to provide you with this kind of holiday than others. A beach resort can still offer lots of activities you might enjoy, and many of them are water based. The most obvious are swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. But you can also take a more sedate course of action and perhaps hire a boat or a pedalo for a few hours to see another side of the place you are staying in.

If the holiday villas in Andalucia are part of a larger complex you may find there are lots of activities there you can try that are already laid on. Look for tennis courts and perhaps a golf course nearby too. Many villa complexes are designed to be near to a wide range of amenities, and many of these will include sporting attractions.

Another thing you can do is to go out on your own and try some hiking or walking routes. This is a great way to go off the beaten track and to explore the local area in more detail. You can also typically get some great views if you have the puff to climb a hill or mountain to get up higher.

The trick is to think about the kinds of activities you would want to do most. For some people it is enough to simply be able to go on a different walk every day. Most areas can provide the opportunity to do this. But when it comes to playing golf or tennis, or going swimming, you clearly need to make sure you are close to those amenities. Swimming is easier if you are near the coast, but you still need to be sure you will be near to a good beach instead of a rocky coastline where the waves are too strong to get in the water.

So you can see it is wise to plan ahead and to make a list of potential spots where you could enjoy an activity holiday. Youll find it is more bracing and relaxing than you may think - and there is nothing as good as having the wind in your hair as you explore somewhere new.
