Would You Consider Liposuction?

Here's one for the debate team: Would you consider liposuction

? The reasons for considering liposuction are so varied that it's hard to come to any kind of conclusion without considering all the facts. The temptation to dismiss a point of view as invalid can be great - but we have to be able to put ourselves in another person's shoes. We have to understand that no matter how lovely we think another person looks 'as they are', our point of view might not be shared by the owner of that body!

Let us look at a few examples of why a person might consider liposuction.

An individual might have been dieting in an effort to lose weight for three years, being partially successful and shedding most of their weight. However, that person might have found they were unable to get rid of the pockets of fat remaining on areas like the tummy. Abdominal liposuction is probably the most popular of these procedures. What can that individual do after so many months spent trying to reclaim a healthy figure?

One approach would be to accept the last few pockets of fat they've been left with; the other option would be to remove it - via liposuction. Another instance of weight frustration can be after childbirth. Some ladies are lucky enough to be able to naturally shrink back into pre-pregnancy clothes within weeks of giving birth, but in reality this is rare - even among celebrities! Much more usual is a gradual weight loss and then commonly, a permanent change in shape around the midriff. Once again, some women embrace this change. Others, however, feel uncomfortable with it and want to do something about the extra hard to shift pocket of belly fat they have been left with. Often it isn't much - making it the perfect area for a little lipo suction.

There are others, though, for whom lipo suction probably isn't such a good idea. There are medical reasons not to go down this route, such as having a heart condition, blood pressure issues or obesity. These concerns would need to be addressed first before any kind of surgery. The reasons for tackling obesity before a liposuction procedure are twofold:

Lipo does not remove the more concerning fat around the organs inside the body (or lower high cholesterol in the bloodstream) and the procedure is not suitable as a means to remove very large amounts of fat. The amount of fat that can be safely removed in a liposuction procedure will vary depending on the method and the surgeon, but the upper regions of 'safe' are usually considered to be around the 2.5 litre mark.

So, whether it's a small area like the face or a larger part of the body, it's important not only to be aware of the benefits but also to be aware of any issues that might need taking care of before embarking on your transformative liposuction experience!
