1) Restart your console.

2) Check for loose cables

3) Unplug all cables, and plug them back in.

4) Take out the hard-drive and put it back in.

If these tips didn't fix your Xbox 360 overheating problems, then you've got to open up your console. You've got 2 ways to do this. You either do this yourself with the use of a repair guide, or you let Microsoft do it.

Sending your console to Microsoft will cost you $150 if your warranty has been expired. Also, you'll have to wait for 2-6 weeks before you'll get your console back. You'd better want to avoid this... Right?
