Xbox 360 Red Ring Of Death Fix Tips

Xbox-360, yet another mind-boggling production from the factories of Microsoft

. Xbox-360 has taken the gaming experience to a whole new level. With new graphics hardware implant, this successor of Xbox is fully loaded and ready to change your gaming world. But this gaming giant is facing serious technical difficulties and giving serious headaches to users.

A new problem in its most updated problem list is a circularly flashing red light which is commonly known as the "Red Ring of Death".

The Xbox-360 has a ring of bi-color LED's with a green LED in the center. These LED's help the user to know the state as well as diagnose any faults present in their consoles. Each of the LED 'quadrants' has a number inscribed just over it and stays the same irrespective of whether it is placed horizontally or vertically. The numbers inscribed are: Q1 to the upper left, Q2 to the upper right, Q3 to the lower left and Q4 to the lower right.

When the red LED's start to blink you can rest assure yourself that your console might be experiencing some technical or electrical problem and needs immediate servicing.

Red Ring of Death -Explained

1. Whenever the Q4 LED turns red then usually a two digit error code such as (E74) is displayed on the connected display output. This error represents a failure in the hardware component of the console.

2.When Q1 and Q3 turn red, represent overheating of the console. When this state occurs then the console will shut off the CPU and GPU and will run the fans at full speed until the console has cooled sufficiently.

3.Q1, Q3 and Q4 turning red simultaneously represent failure of one or more hardware components. This is quite similar with one red light error, but the only difference being, there is no error code shown in the display unit of the console.

4.All four circular LED's turning red represents an "AV Cable Error". This generally occurs when the AV cable is not detected, due to it not being connected properly or due to a more serious problem.

The above mentioned problems may happen once or several times until the hardware failure occurs, or not at all.

But there is also some good news for the users experiencing problems which is, the Vice-President of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division has published an open letter recognizing the console's problems, as well as offering a three-year extended warranty for every Xbox 360 console that experiences the "general hardware failure" indicated by three flashing red LED's on the console.

If you are still facing the problem, you need to send your XBOX to customer service center. It may take up to 3 weeks of time to get it repaired or replaced. The good thing is you can check the status of your XBOX online. Microsoft will keep you updated about the stats of the XBOX.
