Most of us cannot wait for some real world reviews to come out on the xbox kinect. Not reviews from people who would never buy the system in the first place. We are looking for reviews from people who had to pay money for the system.

It was June 1, 2009 at E3 that Microsoft first announced "project natal" which would later be known as The Xbox Kinect. Many of us are used to Microsoft naming their projects after cities."Of or relating to birth" is the defition of the word natal which is a city in brazil. Microsoft saw this project as the ushering in of a new generation of technology.

Many thought that this was going to be a whole new gameing system and that Microsoft was ditching the xbox all together. However Microsoft came forward and let the world know that there would be no additional console to purchase. This was more an accessory to the current xbox system that would adapt to any xbox.

The Xbox Kinect is equipped with four microphones, two cameras and an infrared projector.. The cameras are able to track two players and six people in the room.You can now wave your hands to change the channel on your tv as well as play the games. Once it has captured your voice it will only respond to your commands. This will be very handy during kinect parties.

So you have heard all the good things about the xbox kinect. You've also seen how amazing this technology is and what it is capable of. What about the bad?

There are a few draw backs that are coming out about this device. The number one complaint about the system is the space required to properly operate the system.You will need atleast 6 feet between the sensor and yourself in order for it to operate properly. A good majority of us dont have that much space in our living rooms.If you're living in an apartment or a dorm room you can forget it. Some users have noticed lag problems especially if they have an older xbox. There are a few sources that have stated, the older xbox have a few problems running the kinect. When playing the games there is a small delay between you and your onscreen avatar. If I had to guess I would say that Microsoft already knew about this. They had two options, create a whole new system to go with the kinect or work with the current 40 million xbox owners. I feel they made a great choice.

The launch dates for the xbox kinect have been staggered by country. For the United States the release date is November 4, 2010. Europe's release date is currently set as November 10, 2010. Australia is November 18, 2010 and Japan will get it November 20, 2010.
