Xperia X10 series finally powering Android 2.1
Though a little late but finally Sony Ericsson has officially announced theSony Ericsson Xperia X10 series to be given the Android 2.1 treatment
. Since a long time rumors were in air for Xperia getting Android 2.1 but finally the company has decided to launch the Android 2.1 update on Sunday. The update will be made available for the Nordic region with Europe being next in line. The excitement associated with the launch seems not too high as Android 2.1 is no more the talk of town. Google is coming up with its latest version 2.2 and 2.3 in market which has certainly reduced the popularity of Android 2.1. But certainly something is better than nothing. But with this launch it seems that Sony Erricson is not interested much in updating to Android 2.2 or 2.3.With X10 loaded with Android 2.1 users will get HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for high quality videos, 5 homescreens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders, Upgrade of the Android platform to Android 2.1, Social phonebook which automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and shows when your friends are online, New back up and restore application, with extended content back up. Whereas Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro will get Upgrade of the Android platform to Android platform 2.1, Automatic synchronization of your contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book, New backup and restore application with extended content back up, Improved ways of handling pictures, audio, text and numbers in your messages, Improved Bluetooth functionality with support for sending and receiving pictures, contacts and more.Well hopes are ceratainly high that Sony Ericsson would come with more updates with time and next time probably wont take too long as it did this time.
