On the right hand side we are making 1 by dividing the hole equation with -r
so p(x / -r) + q(y / -r) = 1
X / (-r/p) + Y / (-r/q) =1
so compare above equation with x / a + y / b = 1 where a is x-intercept and , b is y-intercept so
x-intercept = -r/p and y-intercept = -r/q and slope=-p/q

here p = 2, q = 4, r = 6
So x-intercept= -r/p = -6/2 = -3/2

So x/3 - y/2 =1

So 3y=2x-6
and y=2/3 x -6/3

So for y-intercept x=0=> 2(0)-3y=6

Now for x-intercept put y=0
So 2x-3y=6

So x=6/2
x=3
