No other engine could make the claim to fame of being the first of this variety. This decade also brought the Isetta from the BMW doors. It was not a very big vehicle and had the shape similar to an egg.

By the time the 1970's rolled around, BMW was seen as a reputable car manufacturer. Who could complain? The company stayed ahead in technology with updated electronics for its vehicles and turbo charged motors. Time proved that the cars created by this company were to be trusted for their endurance and reliability. Finally, as the 70's decade was passing by, North America had a division of BMW endowed within its borders, and many individuals continued to show their allegiance for the brand name.

The first fabricating factory for the BMW name within United States borders made its appearance during the latter 1990's. So far, there is not another like it inside America's boundaries. On a sprawling piece of land measuring 1,150 acres in South Carolina in the county of Spartanburg, sits this BMW manufacturing plant. Everything that incorporates making a BMW is done completely under one roof. It is thought that communication for the staff is easier if all work is done within one simple facility.

Appreciating the BMW name is not a problem because the standards of its creations have not diminished. Quality workmanship and quality materials are what continue to give BMW the prominence to which its entitled.
