Yeast Intolerance

Yeast intolerance may not be a well known topic

, yet the reality is that many people all over the world suffer from it. If there is an abnormal growth of the candida yeast fungi in their bodies, usually in the gastro intestinal, vaginal and mouth areas, they will experience discomfort and other symptoms, if not treated properly.

Understanding Candida

Candida is part of the normal human flora, and is often moderated by the beneficial bacteria in the body. However, there are instances when the candida fungi will multiply at an abnormal rate, and a disease called Candidiasis results. When a huge volume of candida resides in the intestinal area, symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome, bloating and flatulence may result. There are other instances when the candida migrates to the vaginal area, and severe itching and redness can result. As candida thrives in warm, moist areas, it can also find its way to the mouth, which can then result to sores and other mouth infections.

Causes of a Candida Infection

A person's diet can promote the overgrowth of candida in the body. Since it is a form of yeast, it can be fed by excessive sugar in the diet. Fermented foods, such as pickles and vinegar can also increase the risk of feeding the candida to a level that can cause discomfort.

Some people may be more prone to a candida infection, because of a weakened resistance. It is also caused by stress, a hormonal imbalance and even poor nutrition. If a person does not receive the daily dose of nutrients that the body needs, his immune system will weaken, and he can not cope with the toxins that come with a candida infection.

Yeast Free Diet For Yeast Intolerance

Yeast intolerance can cause bloating and flatulence. The increase in yeast in the stomach will inhibit the proper digestion of foods, and will result to the body not getting enough nutrients. This will often result to hunger headaches, weakness and fatigue. Some mouth sores can occur if a person with yeast tolerance ingests foods that are high in yeast and sugars.

Typically, yeast intolerance can be overcome by going through a yeast free diet for about three months. This will help the body regain the balance of the good and bad bacteria in the body and can get rid of toxins that come with a candida yeast infection. This kind of diet eliminates all foods that are high in sugar content, as sugar feeds the yeast. This includes baked goodies, alcohol and soft drinks, certain kinds of cheeses that have molds in them, and fruits that have high sugar content.

Although yeast intolerance can be quite frustrating, as it requires you to avoid the foods that you like, it is quite easy to overcome it, by changes in diet and lifestyle. Find more ways to increase your tolerance of yeast through a diet change and regular exercises, that can increase your immunity against infections.
