. Its tranquil setting and spacious yoga platform make it a lovely spot for the daily study, and there will be time to swim, snorkel, SCUBA dive and relax in between the busy schedule.

There will be a vegetarian menu throughout, with a range of salads, vegetarian curries and Fijian dishes in coconut milk.

Daku hopes that this will be a first that will be followed by many more. They have put together an extraordinarily good accommodation and food package for the students so the whole exercise stays affordable.

Judy Krupp is running a retreat in late October entitled Therapeutic yoga: the Art and Science of Yoga. Judy is the founder and director of The Yoga Room & Life Centre in St Ives, Sydney and has been teaching for over 20 years. She teaches a multifaceted approach, blending the art of asana practice with the science of the mechanics of movement. She aims to nurture your body and its needs, and wants you to leave the yoga class feeling better than when you entered.

Her studies of yoga have included not only training with Angela Farmer and Donna Farhi, but also studying anatomy and physiology with Simon Borg-Olivier. She says: I have had many fabulous teachers and influences over the last 30 years including, Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, Rodney Yee, Eric Schiffman, David Life and Sharon Gannon of Jivamukti yoga, Simon Borg Olivier, Ramanand Patel and Peggy Hackney who does the developmental pattern work.

I am one very lucky little yogini!Her week is followed by Lotus Jade whose retreat, The Power of Peace, has the added excitement of a trip to view the dolphins of Natewa Bay, Sightings of the two resident pods of dolphins there are frequent and even if you dont see them, theres spectacular snorkeling on the reefs of this vast and hardly visited bay. Lotus divides her time between an island home on the remote Fijian island of Koro, and her home in the US. She came to Daku last year and lead a week of powerful peace, if you can imagine such a thing! Come along and try it out.
