You Can Rebuild Your Metabolism And Get It Running Hot Again
We hear a lot about how metabolism influences how fit or fat we are and we wonder
if our metabolic motor is doing its job and is running at the right speed.
Your metabolism is basically lots of organs, glands and hormones that are responsible for regulating how your body converts the food you eat into fuel and whether that fuel is stored as body fat or burnt up harmlessly in the muscle cells for energy.
If you have become overweight there is a good change that one or more of those systems are out of balance or just plain not working as they should be. It is pointless reducing food intake too much to try and get rid of the excess fat weight as you will only slow your metabolism down even further.
Many people blame their metabolism for not only weight gain but their inability to lose that weight. Its health really does have a big impact on how slim you are. As it is the rate your body burns fuel it is of interest for those who desire to lose weight. You will continue to store fat easily until you fix the problem right down a base level.
The major factor that allows weight gain to happen is the general slowing of the metabolism as we get older. From around age 25 we lose this muscle tissue not because of our age but because we generally stop being as active. There is simply not enough muscle building and maintaining activity in our modern lives anymore.
So it makes good sense that to lose excess body fat we need to rebuild and re-tone our muscular system so it boosts its energy consumption rate. It would be pretty much guaranteed that if you added 5 pounds of lean muscle tissue and lost 15 pounds of body fat you would look so much better. Your body shape would improve dramatically as firm muscle tissue is taut and hangs tight to your body. Flab hangs and sags and makes you wider, larger and heavier.
There is no other type of exercise that will do this so do not look to long duration endurance activity as you will be very disappointed in the results. Firm muscle tissue is the engine of your body and our bodies have been designed to be strong.
If you really want to lose the fat think of your muscle tissue as your friend. Every pound extra will burn up 50 calories a day. This may not sound like much but add that 5 pounds and you will be burning an extra 250 calories of energy per day even whether you are active or not.
That is 10 percent of your daily food intake - extra - and that is what will get you slim again. But you will need to take action and get started on your proper exercise program as it will not happen without a bit of effort from you. But think how it will be so worth it when you grab that lean strong body back.
