An email message is a simple text message sent to recipients. You can attach pictures, documents, songs or any other file thats on your computer to your email message. You type your message insert the recipients address, click send and within few seconds it is in the mailbox of the intended recipient.

Email Clients

You are able to read your emails through email client. Email clients are the email service providers. Some people used stand alone clients like Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express while others use the free email service providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail. Each email service provider is offering you four things in general.

Shows a list of all the messages in your mailbox. It shows you a list of all the messages that are present in your mail box. The message headers are displayed to make it convenient for you to identify. The header shows you the subject of the email, senders name, time and date of the message and also the size of the message.

Allows you to select the message header to read the body. The email service provider allows you to select the message header and read the body of the message.

Lets you create new messages and send them. You write your messages, type in the recipients email address and subject of the message and send it to at the address inserted.

Lets you to add and download attachments. It allows you to attach additional files to your message and at the same time permits you to save the attachments that you have received in your email.

In order to distinguish themselves the email service providers may provide some additional services as well, but these are the general things that they offer.
