When you book an eye test you will receive an appointment within 3 days, most home visits will be funded by the NHS however if you are not eligible for an NHS home eye test, then and eye test can be arranged privately. Your eye test will be carried out in your own home allowing you to feel comfortable, and to help lessen any worries that you may have. The optometrist will bring a range of different glasses, allowing you to try them on and find the frames which you like best, some frames are free on the NHS and so you can ask to only view the frames which are available on the NHS if you wish.
