Our atmosphere is like a cushion around us, keeping us warm from the cold of space, and protected from the burning sun. However, it is a delicate balance of chemistry. Over the last 250 years, human activity has meant that the concentration of carbon dioxide has increased by 31%, destroying this balance.

This has caused chaos in our weather, most obviously pushing temperatures through the roof. Higher temperatures mean melting ice, which means higher sea levels, which means flooding of land. As this continues, we will experience freak and severe weather, eventually leading to our planet becoming uninhabitable.

Burning fuels like petrol (to run your car) or coal (to create electricity at the power station) creates more carbon to the mix. Our atmosphere is choking.

But it does not have to be like this. We can change things, and even reverse the effects of Global warming. And it starts with you.

Most people care about the environment, but don't really know what they can do to help. However, there is a way to offset your emissions and become carbon-neutral. If we all do our bit we can reverse the effects of damage that has already been done.

What you need to do

There are three stages:

1 Reduce your emissions. Cut down your energy usage to the comfortable minimum. 2 Offset the rest. Offset the remaining emissions by investing in projects to replace the carbon you produce. 3 Encourage others to join in. Encourage others to do the same. If we all take these small steps, the problem will be solved.
