Once your permanent crown arrives, your dentist will do a final check to make sure that the fit and coloring are correct. If they are, he or she will permanently cement the crown into place and the procedure will be finished.

Dental Bridges

While dental crowns are installed to restore a broken or chipped tooth, a dental bridge is used to replace a tooth lost to decay or injury. A bridge is made up of a replacement tooth that is anchored on both sides by dental crowns. To get a bridge installed, your dentist will begin by anesthetizing the area and filing down the two teeth that will receive dental crowns. Your dentist will then take impressions of the area that will then be sent to a dental lab. After two to three weeks of wearing a temporary bridge, your permanent bridge will arrive. Your dentist will check it for color and fit and then permanently cement it to your teeth. After this, you will be free to leave his or her office and start enjoying your new and improved smile.
