, however we won't be lying if we say that cats and dogs are the most commonly seen types of pets. But you should know that they aren't easy to care for, especially the dogs. Dogs require a lot of special care, training and other important things. If you get such a pet, then be ready to make it a part of your family.

Getting a dog isn't something which should be rushed and made the quickest way possible. Take in mind all of the factors you may have to follow. For instance money, free time and needs are a sure way to determine the type of breed you want to be getting. Some breeds are much more expensive than others and due to that money is once again an important factor when buying a dog.

But don't think that once you have bought your pet companion, you won't have to do anything more. The fun is just starting and you will have to spend a lot of effort and time in order to make its life comfortable. Proper feeding is an important thing for dogs and you should do it like that. If your four-legged friend is a puppy - three times a day; if it is at least 6 months old - 2 times a day; and if it is more than a year old - 1 time a day.

Dogs, like humans, have different life stages- from puppies, through adults, to all dogs. And of course for each one of the stages, you will need to perform a different type of care and buy different food for your 'friend'. The simplest example is the following: A puppy is playful and uses huge amounts of energy daily. This is why it is important if you have a puppy to feed it with only high nutrition foods.

A visit to the vet is also quite recommended. Always get your pet vaccinated, no matter if you think he is healthy. This will surely destroy the risk of any infections or diseases and won't only protect your pet, but also your family.

And who wants to have a dog which isn't trained. Always train your puppy, even if it looks too small to you. Either hire a professional or just do it by yourself, but no matter what you do, you must always teach the puppy the simplest rules. Teach him where he has to potty and that he shouldn't destroy furniture and curtains. This will help you feel comfortable when leaving your house and dog alone.
