Travelling once in a while can be fun, but if you are in one of those jobs that involves hectic tours, then travelling can become stressful for you
. Travelling can become more stressful if you leave your stuff to be packed at the last moment. The best thing is to start planning, as well as packing, in advance so that you do not feel stressed up; after all holidays are meant to be enjoyed and not to be spoiled because of stress.
Here are a few tips which when followed, will surely keep you stress free and in great holiday spirits:
Pack carefully and consciously: Prepare a checklist and jot down everything you need, from clothes to toiletries. Pack carefully; keeping in mind the destination you are going to. You can easily search the internet and find out the local temperature during the day and night. This will prove to be of great help in deciding on the clothes and will help you avoid from carrying unnecessary luggage. Strictly follow the guidelines of the airline you are travelling through, as it is very hard to pack again, especially at airports.
Keep Identity cards handy: Prepare a separate bag or a folder for your documents and keep it safe. It should include important original identity cards, which will be required during check in at the airport or hotel once you reach the place. It is best to keep them separate and handy, so that you do not have to struggle inside your suitcases at the last moment. Keep them near your bag, so that you do not forget to carry them.
Accompanied by kids: If you are travelling with kids, then do not forget to keep their comfort in mind. Pack story books and one or two coloring books that will keep them occupied during the Journey. Keep a few extra clothes handy, even if your kid is above five years of age, as you might need them. For smaller kids prepare a separate bag with their feeding bottles, diapers, clothes, milk powder, etc and keep a stock for things that are not easily available. This will prevent stress when you are holidaying.
Credit Card: Do carry your credit cards and make sure that you can use them outside your own country. Check on the credit limits. It is best to carry minimal cash while travelling.
Flight Information: Getting your tickets booked well in advance is the best idea. Another important thing is to cross check the time of your flight, especially under situations of bad weather, etc. Leave your home on time, so that you can check in without any stress or discomfort at the airport, as well as to avoid delays due to traffic.
Hotel Booking: Get your hotel rooms booked in advance. Use the internet to check out the hotels in that region and their locations. One can even read reviews about the Hotels in Mohali and then choose the best one.
Time management is very important and so you should well organize your time. Pay great attention to even the smallest things to lessen last minute stress. These tips will be beneficial not just for one holiday trip, but for a lifetime. Do not leave anything till the end. Utilize your free time for packing and planning for sightseeing at your destination. Also keep the maps of the place with you.
