Your Home Will Feel Cleaner If It Smells Cleaner

One of the first things people and you as well probably notice when they come into your home is the way it smells

. Nothing can turn a visitor off faster than a stinky home. Over the years things like the carpets, draperies and the upholstered furniture can be ignored and smells can hide and linger there easily. Getting started might be a little difficult because deep cleaning can be quite an undertaking, but once you get started you will see and smell the difference.

There are several things that can cause a home to have that smelly, lived in mustiness. Pets can create some unruly odors and these you must get handle on and prevent as you go or they can become set in and a permanent fixture you definitely don't want. If you have cats, the odor can be overwhelming. Keep you litter box outside or at the very least in a garage or space that is easily accessible for the feline and change it often. Untrained dogs can be a big problem to because they can want to "Go" just anywhere sometimes. Training them to the outdoors is the only real solution, but at least training them to disposable pads is a must. Clean you soiled carpets well at least once a year to remove pet and other odors. You can remove carpets all together and replace them laminate hardwoods or tile so they can more easily be kept clean when you have pets.

Cooking odors also create lingering odors. If possible, when you cook strong smelling foods like fish or greens, always use an exhaust vent or fan and even open nearby windows if you can. Use an air deodorizer and not just an air freshener. Fresheners do only cover up the smells instead of eliminating them.

Finally, if there is a tobacco smoker in your home,get rid of it. Not the smoker, but their habit. Make them take it outside. Not only does tobacco smoke smell up the home all over, but it can also leave a sticky tar residue that you will end up having to scrub off of almost every surface and possible paint over too. Carpets, draperies and furniture will have to be cleaned all of the time with a smoker in the house, so make them go outdoors and at the very least, smoke under an exhaust vent. Purchasing the smoker in your life an electronic cigarette might solve the tobacco smoke issue. The e cigarette produces no tar and no odor. Electric cigarettes are the ideal solution for indoor smokers.

Once you learn how to keep the odors in your home under control, it will always smell clean whether it looks clean or not. It is much more rewarding to clean and organize if the house looks good and smells good too when you have finished.
