. Our family consists of our mother, father and siblings, if we have. Without our parents, we would not exist in this world. They are the ones who guide us and protect us. They make sure that we have a decent life and they provide us with all the basic necessities that we need like clothing, food, and medicine to name a few.

You will understand the major role that a father and mother has on each other and to the family by reading this article.

Father - Sometimes considered as the head of the family, fathers are one of the foundation of a basic family. They are expected to be tough so that in difficult times the children and the mother have someone to hold onto and to gather strength. They are considered or they are expected to be the main provider for all the needs of the family.

Our fathers are also expected to be our defender. They are the ones that protect and defend us if we face some problems. They ensure our safety both in our homes and outside.

Another role of a father to his wife is to love, take care, and cherish her. Fathers aside from the administrator of the household; they are expected to take care of his kids together with the mother. Providing financial needs to the wife for the family is also his obligation.

Mother - The role of the mother is different from that of the father. Mothers take care of the entire family and they take care of the household as well. They are the ones who guide, nurture, educate, teach good manners, and protect the children. They act as the light in the family. They are the soft version of the father. Many mothers today are already working and are serving as the breadwinner for the family while the husband also works at the same time. Traditionally, mothers are supposed to stay at home, take care of all the household chores and keep it tidy. They are the ones that bring the children to school back and forth.

Since they are also wives, they are to take care of the husbands. So when the husband comes home from a tiring day at the office, she has to be there to comfort him and take care of his needs. She has to support all the decisions that the husbands will make. They are the ones that a husband can call to when he needs help, or the wife is the one who gives advice to her husband regarding an issue.
