Your Lifestyle Is One Of The Factors That Contributes To Hair Loss And Stress

Did you know that your lifestyle can cause hair loss and stress

? Maybe it should be the other way around.

The stress you have in your everyday life can contribute to hair loss. Most of us already have the hereditary factors that are responsible for causing loss of hair.

There are those who do not have a problem at all and others that begin to lose their hair early. Why does this happen?

It is thought that the stress we go through in our daily lives can speed up the process of going bald. The pressure that is present at work and often at home is part of the problem.

Reactions to the world around us are directly responsible for changes within the body. We already know that stress can cause elevated blood pressure, ulcers and mental health issues.

The level of stress you are under will determine if the onset of baldness will happen early or later in your life. This is one area scientists have been studying.

Some of these studies have shown that women are more apt to suffer from hair loss due to stress than men. This was determined by examining the hair and scalp of both men and women in studies.

They are simply more affected by stress than men. This may be due to the increased roles they have of caring for home, children, job and often school.

The good thing is that women normally rebound and the loss of hair goes away when the stress is lessened. On the other hand, men who lose their hair due to stress do not re-grow the hair they lose.

Not only do they not re-grow the hair, they continue to lose it until the process of balding has finished. Add more stress to the scenario when you worry about losing your hair.

Telogen effluvium is what happens when stress causes the roots of the hair to go into a resting phase before it is time. This can occur when your stress levels are very high.

The body reacts by shutting down many non-essential functions. When the body is under extreme stress it pumps potassium and acid through the blood.

This physiological reaction to stress can cause damage to the hair follicles and can cause early balding. When this is the cause of hair loss, the hair will re-grow when the stress is taken away.

Not only does stress cause your hair to fall out, it also can cause your hair to turn gray. The hair is the recipient of the stress we have in our daily lives.

It is the first part of the body to suffer due to stress levels. When you are ill, do not eat healthy or if there are particular medications being taken, the hair will show a reaction to all of these.

As you can see, stress and hair loss are closely connected in both men and women. Limiting your stress levels is one of the ways of preventing the problem of premature hair loss.
