Your Relationship Is A Success - Don't Let It Drift Away
Something's not quite right
Something's not quite right. An uneasy sort of dissatisfaction with your partner, with your relationship, is fluttering around the corners of your mind. A sort of malaise clouds your view and a sort of depression accompanies it. This is definitely a problem. If this is allowed to grow, you'll find your body getting out of sorts, too. You need a paradigm shift. A new way to sort through your life and appreciate it for what it is truly worth. A new way that will help you appreciate your significant other, who has helped you get to where you are today.
What has been your focus lately? Have you been dwelling on negative issues? Why? Just about every situation or circumstance in life has its negative aspects. Flip the coin, turn the page, open the window - focus on the positive side of life situations. Celebrate triumphs. Start with the small things. When life gives you a happy inch, take a happy mile. Look at your relationship and find strength there, one atom at a time.
Sometimes it is easiest to start out with small matters, matters close at hand. Something as silly as the blooming plants that you and your significant other gathered and potted last weekend, perhaps. There's success. They way you both held forth at the bridge game last week. There's success. Or something similar. Good lives are made of lots of small good things. Like children.
Raising children is no small feat these days so find a great sense of accomplishment in this, you've earned it and, from a fellow human being, thank you for bringing and raising good people into this world. If nothing else appreciate the fact that you and your partner did this together and be proud of all you've done.
Think of your friendships. Whether your friendships are made up of a tight circle or a large group, they too are a testament to your pleasure in each others company. You have mutual friends because you like each other enough that you want to share your partner's beauty, in body and soul, with other folks.
So remember, when you are having a difficult time feeling like you and your partner are connecting and that your relationship is on a downward spiral try to refocus and think about things which you accomplished together. This will give you a sense of pride in you relationship and something to feel good about.
Instead of seeing your life together as a failure, emphasize the good things and block out the bad. Don't allow the negative things to penetrate your consciousness. Make the effort to remind yourself of the good every morning when you wake up and every evening before you go to sleep. Practicing this method will help you stay focused on the positive things you possess. You have the ability to change your life and make it want ever you want.
