Your Target Customers: What Do You Find Out About Them?

Finding out about your target customers, as already mentioned in my article entitled "Target Customers - Why Is It Important To Find Out About Them

?", is very important and a key to success in your online home business. But do you know what to find out about them?

In this article, I would like to share with you the following key points to consider when finding out about your target customers.

1. Your target customers' demographic profile.

This includes finding out about their gender, age, income, education and employment. If your target customers comprise of companies, you should consider the type of industry and number of employees. This information is useful in knowing the kind of people or companies that do business with you.


2. Interest and habits.

What do they like and dislike? What are their habits? Find out what their interests are and how they behave. It will help you to know what motivates them and how their changing habits are likely to affect your business.

3. Where your target customers go to find products and/or services like yours.

Which other online businesses in your niche offer products or services similar to the ones you offer? With this information, you will be able to know who your competitors are and to think about what to do to remain in business.

4. Things that your target customers take to be important when buying products or services like yours. How do they perceive you and your business? How do they describe you and your business?

5. What they are comfortable paying.

How is the price you charge? And how is the quality of your products. Do your target customers feel concerned or unconcerned about paying the price you charge?

6. What their characters are.

You need to find out about the issues related to the character of the individuals that you do business with. Find out about their strengths, weaknesses, personality and many others.

7. Location.

As an online marketer, you should know where your customers come from. For instance, which countries do they come from? Why? How do you reach them or how do they get to your site and buy from you?

8. How they go about buying the products or services you offer.

Do they buy the first time they visit your site? Do they take time to buy? Are they easily motivated? How enthusiastic are they?

9. Where your target customers go to find solutions like yours.

Which people's problems are you solving? Which other online businesses are currently solving the problem you are solving? How can you position yourself to do business with your target customers? How can you convert your customers' motivations into your products' characteristics?

10. How they like to buy.

How motivated are they? Do they have a strong desire to buy your product? How enthusiastic are they? This information is useful to determine how you can improve the sales of your product or service.


11. Impact of your special offers.

What special offers do you have? How have they impacted on your business? Do you see any positive change? What else can you offer for better results?

As I conclude, you should always find out how much you know about your target group, their evolving problems, their interests and their habits, what happens on the market that may influence them and how to get to your target customers. Always think about finding out more and more about your target customers.
