That's one of the reasons large fish tanks are used to keep large fish like goldfish and Oscars. Being heavy bodied, they require minimum of ten gallons each for the perfect growth.

First of all a decorated tank enhances the beauty of the environment where it has been placed. Secondly it provides more space and hiding sorts to the tank inhabitants. But remember that sharp gravel will be dangerous and can cause injuries to the fish that like to swim in the bottom. The carbon dioxide gas which is released by the fish is absorbed by the plants for their own utility and prevents the water from getting acidic due to carbolic acid. The toxic nitrogenous wastes like ammonia and nitrites are utilized by plants for their own reasons and help avoiding the possible accumulations which can be fatal sometimes. A variety of marine plants is available in fish stores and is easy to buy as the plants don't cost much. People usually find the best plant for their tank and become happy to see that they grow well and need no extra attentions. This also enhances the aesthetic beauty of the tank. If you are not in favor of a fully planted aquarium which needs a bit more amount of food and possibility of diseases by algae and also by the plants themselves, it is better that you should go for plastic plants. They provide extra cover to fish and there are no complexes also.
