Zombified With A Zombie

The Zombie cocktail originated and made it's debut in the year 1939

. The cocktail is served in a tall Collins glass or a tumbler that is used when blending drinks. The initiation of the Zombie was by a young man named Donn Beach. The name was originated and called a Zombie for that exact reason, indulging more than one made a person feel like a zombie. It is a high level octane beverage that includes fruit, which makes it taste like a tropical drink. The mixture of the ingredients are such that the alcohol can not be detected.

A careful consumption is difficult because the taste buds are fooled by the tropical punch flavor. A Zombie has three times the limit of a regular mixed drink. The ingredients of a Zombie are blended in a blender at high speed to chop the ice and produce a nice heavy foamed ice liquid mixture. There are many variations of the fruit filled Zombie that are available to a ready to drink customer. This customer could visit fifteen different establishments and possibly receive fifteen variations of the Zombie.

The main ingredients of a Zombie are ice, pineapple juice and rum. There are many different varieties of rum, from light to dark and from 80 proof to 151 proof in alcohol content. The juices that are a major part of a Zombie other than pineapple are lime and orange. Here is a basic recipe for a standard Zombie cocktail. 1/2 oz. Bacardi 151 rum, 1 oz. pineapple juice, 1oz. orange juice, 1/2 oz. apricot brandy, 1tsp sugar, 2oz. light rum, 1oz. dark rum, 1oz. lime juice and ice. The best rums to use for this are Bacardi or Myers. Aspiced rum may be used if desired.

All ingredients for this explosive formula are measured and poured into a blender, except for the 151 rum. Blend ingredients until smooth and pour into a Collins glass or a tumbler. Continue by drizzling the 151 rum over the top of the mixture and garnish with an orange slice, a cherry, and a sprinkle of sugar.

This was the zombification of the cocktail labeled as the Zombie. If one would like to feel zombified, then pull up a bar stool and drink to your delight.
