Stress or the "fight or flight symptom" (by another name) has been and will remain a part of our makeup since the beginning of the human race. The purpose of the "fight or Fight symptom" is to put all of our body's energy and resourced at our disposal to deal with an emergency. As an example, we have all experienced this when such as when a friend or a event really scares you. It is that first parts of a second ( a startle) when the body is acting to deal with the situation.

The body is in overdrive or the "fight or flight symptom". And we continue in this state until we are comfortable with the outcome. Stress is the body dealing with a everyday non emergency events as a emergency in the same way and us not being aware that we are overreacting. This "fight or flight symptom" is a good species survival trait in a emergency but it is potentially damaging to the body if it is used to deal with every day events such as traffic, customers or other daily events. The problems began when We use our body's resources and are unable to replace them from our diet and some people have a hard time replacing these resources due to the way the body function (due to their gene coding).

ADD/ADHD and stress are related through lack of neurotransmitters. A neurotransmitter is a chemical messenger used by neurons (nerve cells) to communicate in one direction with other neurons. Communication between neurons is accomplished by the recognition of a receptor for a specific hemical messenger; picture a ball (neurotransmitter) in a cup (receptor). Shortage of neurotransmitters can cause unclear of incorrect message to be send from the brain to the body. This is ADD/ADHD simply explained.
