Because generally the people who are willing to take the time to go online and review a company are those whove had negative experiences online.

Pros
High interest rates
How are they able to offer better rates? Because they are an international bankand they tend to have fewer physical locations than a lot of others.
Therefore they dont have the high overhead expenses most other similar sized companies do. This enables them to have slightly better rates than others.
Offshore services
This is EXCELLENT because in certain instances it can provide tax advantages and if you plan on investing a lot of money in your account its certainly worth it.
Dont get me wrongthis is ONLY worth it if you plan on investing a lot of money in your account. But if you do, HSBC is probably your best bet.
Cons
Customer service
Lets just saytheir over the phone service is a bit lackingbut its not the worst in the world either. Just dont expect to be dazzledits more of a hit or miss proposition but this is really true of most banks.
