This is difficult for stroke patients and caregivers alike. Both must learn a new way of life. Patients of stroke are often left with debilitating brain injuries. These injuries affect many basic capabilities including speech, walking, using the bathroom, and eating. Stroke patients may be wheelchair bound or unstable on their feet. There are some steps that can be taken to make the journey to a new way of life easier for both patient and caregiver, and one of the most important of these steps is to prepare the home for the stroke patient to live there once again.
