iPad Rivals hit the market soon

CHICAGO (TechMunch.net) We see the iPad hit shelves hard

, as the price starts just above $499, the iPad makes a tremendous effort toward mini-notebook displays. Now, we will start to see many other similar iPad products hitting the shelves next year. Here is one of the popular one:

Research in Motion (maker of BlackBerry) unveiled its RIM Playbook during the DevCon developer meeting in San Fransisco on Monday.

The Playbook offers a 7-inch screen, Flash-capable video, and a front & rear HD Camera. It's a thin tablet, at just 9.7 millimeters. RIM didn't announce the price for this product yet.

This tablet will not be running on BlackBerry's latest Operating System, but it will run on a new QNX Software systems platform, which RIM acquired in early 2010.

The PlayBook can help revive RIM, or just seal it's fate, RIM fended off critics by posting strong sales last quarter, but its just-launched BlackBerry Torch cell phone is an also-ran in the fast-moving smartmarket field. To keep up with its mobile competition with Apple and Google, RIM will need a new game plan.

These iPad-like products are going to be hitting shelves early January, but other products will be hitting shelves next summer. We will be seeing new products from Dell, HP, and as well as Amazon! Rumors has it that these products will have their own Marketplace, prices will be ranging from $350-$700, and last but not least, some of these products might also have a Blu-Ray disk drive! HP will announce its product at the HP Conventional Meeting in December.
